My All Stars

The Today was all star day for our little league. My Dillon and Kris made it for their divisions.

Kris had a great game and Dillon missed hitting a home run by inches.

Today I had one of those mother moments when you look at your kids and wonder where the time went. Weren't they just toddling around after each other?

Then there's this
This is my home screen. It was taken a year ago. I had them pose this way again
It's crazy pants people!

Spring Cold

Well my youngest had the sniffles Saturday morning and by the next morning he was fine. The rest of us not so much. It's Tuesday night and I still feel like a semi ran over me. We all went to the doctor's office yesterday as some of us needed antibiotics. Thanks to allergies and the cold I am so stuffed I got double ear and sinus infection. Yeah!  Anyways have basically been parked on the couch since well laying down is just asking for trouble.
Yeah it's a crappy picture of the little bit of knitting I was able to manage.

I am using a very early hand spun, maybe my second or third. My MJ picked it out of my draw full. It's strange looking back at it I was all over the place in twist and thickness. I am knitting a one row scarf by the Yarn Harlot. Easy but not boring.

Baseball and Knitting

Still on sock one of Kris's pair. Life has just been crazy busy. It's the end of the year at school with 2 of my kids "graduating" their schools.

Pride goeth before the fall

I was feeling a little smug. I found a free tatting pattern and I understood it.
As one of my children said it looks like a math problem.
Well, anyway I was tatting along and it was looking like the picture.
Then I noticed something. I totally forgot to connect the little picots on one side
Here I stretched it out. It's connected on the right side but not the left. I have no idea why I did this or in this case didn't do it. Anyway I just ended it and it in the mess up pile. I can take the second round off and try again but I needed time away from it.

Not to give up I made these
A basic butterfly and I guess you could call the second one a wreath.

All part of the learning process

Add a Little Sunny Yellow

The heels and toes of my Kris's socks are going to be Sunny Yellow because why not
Slow knitting on small needles. Though the foot will just be plain knit so that should go a little faster

More Tatting

So today I made two things

Key chain on the right (it has a boo boo. It's hard to see but I know it's there).
Bookmark on the left, again they need blocking.

Don't think I have the hang of this. I am throwing out tons of scraps and major mess up
This is from the bookmark

The amount I had to toss for that keychain well no picture but it was about three times that amount. Baby steps

Catch Up

So let's see. I finished my moms socks
Also MJ's speech teacher moved on and she was really good with him. I had to make her something.
Here's a bad picture of my pattern Huntington Cowl. She loved it.
I also have been tatting

Now my "tree" on the right need to be blocked and stiffened so it does look a little messy

And this one is called "Squared Flower Motif"
Again not stiffened

I am thinking of turning these two into ornaments.

I am starting to get the hang of it I think. My biggest problem is that most patterns are written for shuttle tatting and for some reason I can't use them to save my life. I can do needle tatting so I have to figure out the "translation" so to speak. I know now that I have said I am getting the hang of it I am just asking for trouble

And Tonight is the Night

NYSSMA night. We get to spend 2.5 hours in a high school. Yeah!
